Serves 4

Recommended glassware: highball glass

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup dried food grade hibiscus flowers (about 1 ounce)
  • 4 cups hot water
  • 3 sprigs of mint, plus more to garnish
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom honey
  • juice of 1 lime

Hibiscus tea is naturally tart and fruity and it is so simple to make! Simply steep a few of the dried hibiscus flowers in hot water and add a sweetener of your choice. There are so many ways to customize your hibiscus tea. Here, mint is utilized but ginger, orange, or basil are other fantastic additions to consider as well.

Instructions

Step 1
Pour a little hot water into tea pot and swirl around to heat up.  Add dried hibiscus flowers and pour in the hot water. Add fresh mint and let the tea steep for 5 minutes. Mix in the honey until completely combined. Strain the tea and let cool to room temperature, about 2 hours. Mix in lime juice and store in refrigerator until ready to use.

Step 2
To serve, pour over ice and garnish with additional mint.
