  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz prickly pear syrup (Monin Desert Pear Syrup)

Cacti are a super trendy way to liven up your home decor, but have you ever tried them in a cocktail? Prickly pear is a delicious member of the cacti family that boasts a fruity flavor similar to raspberry and strawberry. This desert fruit is the perfect addition to a classic daiquiri. In this rum-based cocktail, prickly pear syrup is utilized in place of simple syrup to bring sweetness to this otherwise acidic cocktail. Fresh lime juice also plays a key role in this well balanced beverage due to its ability to cut through the sweetness of the syrup. If the flavors weren't tempting enough, this cocktail is also super fun and easy to make! Simply add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake, shake, shake until your hands feel nice and cold. This cocktail is sure to impress your friends!

Instructions

Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Combine all ingredients in shaker, cover, and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is extremely cold and starts to frost, about 20 seconds. Strain cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer into a chilled coupe glass. Enjoy!
