Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1/4 oz peach liqueur (Giffard preferred)
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz Miso Honey Syrup**
  • 3 sugar snap peas (for muddling)

**Miso Honey Syrup Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1 tbsp yellow miso

Sugar snap peas are one of my favorite versatile ingredients to infuse into cocktails. Their nuttiness and grassy notes lend a bit of approachable intrigue to any classic cocktail template and beautifully pairs with just about any spirit–from lighter-style whiskeys to robust agave spirits. For the Viper Sounds cocktail, I wanted to create a fun Gimlet variation that doubles down on the nuttiness and herbaceous-ness by pairing the snap peas with the butterscotch-ey notes of miso and honey, along with the herbaceous, greenness of a London Dry-style gin.

Instructions

Combine ingredients in a shaker tin set and shake with cubed ice for 8-10 seconds, then strain into a coupe glass served up. Garnish with a lime wedge with a slit cut in the middle, so it rests on the lip of the glass.

**Miso Honey Syrup Instructions

Stir to combine. This can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
